Three years have passed. Everyone has grown and changed, except for Gokuu who looks the same. It is the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai. In the first round, Gokuu is against Chapu Ou, and Iron Man. Chapu Ou moves his hands so fast, that it looks like he has eight hands (the technique is called Hasshu Ken). Gokuu just kicks him out of it. Chapu Ou attacks again, and Gokuu counters by exhaling (the technique is called Explosive Wind). All of Kamesennin's students make it into the finals (Gokuu, Yamcha, Kuririn). Of the original 182 fighters, eight are left:
Yamcha vs. Tenshinhan
ManWolf vs. Jackie Chun
Chao-zu vs. Kuririn
Panputto vs. Gokuu
Tenshinhan knocks Yamcha unconscious, and brakes his leg. Jackie Chun beats the ManWolf by throwing a bone out the ring. The ManWolf chases after the bone, which means he forfeited the match by exiting the ring. Chao-zu and Kuririn are evenly matched, So Chao-zu starts up Dodon, and fires it off. Kuririn avoids it and shoots back a Kamehame-ha. Chao-zu staggers, and then freezes Kuririn by paralyzing his heart. Chao-zu beats up Kuririn., and freezes him again. Kuririn knows that it requires a lot of concentration for Chao-zu, so Kuririn asks him what 3+4 is. Chao-zu loses his train of thought, and Kuririn beats up Chao-zu, knocking him out of the ring. Gokuu easily defeats Panputto. The remaining fighters are

Gokuu vs. Kuririn
Tenshinhan and Jackie Chun are also evenly matched. So Tenshinhan shoots a Kamehame-ha at Kamesennin. Kamesennin easily deflects the blast, and mocks Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan then starts Dodon. Kamesennin knows that this attack is too powerful for him, so he forfeits the match.
Gokuu and Kuririn fights next, and they both promise to try their hardest. Kuririn uses his shiny head to blind Gokuu. Kuririn knows that he can't win with strength or speed, so he shoots a Kamehame-ha at Gokuu. Gokuu blocks it. Kuririn then grabs Gokuu's tail. However, this isn't Gokuu's weakness anymore (he doesn't have one). Gokuu then moves so fast that you can't see him. Gokuu does this by jumping from one side of the ring to the other quickly. Gokuu then suddenly reappears in front of Kuririn Giving him such a fright, that Kuririn jumps out of the ring.
The Final round is then Tenshinhan against Son Gokuu. Tenshinhan uses Dodon, so Gokuu avoids it using one patters. However, Tenshinhan's third eye allows him to find the real image of Gokuu.
Tenshinhan then starts beating up Gokuu. But instead of attacking Gokuu with the killing blow, he tries his Haikyuu-Ken (this is a volleyball technique). Gokuu is spiked into the ground, but still survives. Gokuu explains the meaning of Shiai Power. Tenshinhan wants to know what he is talking about, so Gokuu nearly kills him, only to spare him life. Gokuu then starts a number of attacks. So Tenshinhan does Taiyou-ken (blinding attack). Gokuu get hit the first time, but during the second, he wears Kamesennin's sunglasses. Tsurusennin gets made, and makes Chao-zu paralyze Gokuu's heart. Gokuu falls down, and Tenshinhan doesn't like Tsurusennin cheating. He yells for Chao-zu to stop, which Chao-zu does. Tsurusennin gets angry and threatens to kill Chao-zu and Tsurusennin. So Kamesennin shoots a Kamehame-ha at Tsurusennin, knocking him out of the city. Tenshinhan then starts up another attack. He grows another set of arms, which allow him to control Gokuu's arms and legs, but not his tail. Gokuu then uses the Hasshu Ken to let him have eight hands instead of two. Tenshinhan gets annoyed at Gokuu, and starts Kikouhou. Gokuu doesn't know what to do, and Kamesennin is telling him to forfeit the match. Gokuu refuses to and stubbornly awaits for Tenshinhan to attack him. There is a massive blast, and when everyone can see again, the Ring, Gokuu and Tenshinhan are gone. Tenshinhan and Gokuu are above in mid-air. Since the ring at the bottom is gone, however lands first will lose. However Tenshinhan can fly, while Gokuu can't. That means that Gokuu will land first. in desperation, Gokuu fires a Kamehame-ha away from Tenshinhan, super propelling Gokuu's body into Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan can't handle the force of the impact, and falls with Gokuu. Gokuu uses the last of his Kamehame-ha power into the ground to slow is descent down, only to get hit by a Matadog truck, and falling to the ground first. Tenshinhan becomes friends with Gokuu and wants to give him half of the prize money. But money doesn't mean anything to Gokuu. Tenshinhan then agrees to pay for dinner.
Kuririn goes to get Gokuu's gear. Kuririn screams, and everyone runs to see what had happened. Kuririn is lying dead on the ground.
