The announcers says that a monster had killed Kuririn, taken the Dragonballs and the list of all of the fighters that entered the Tenkaichi-Budokai. Gokuu takes the Dragonball Radar of Bulma, and calls Kintoen. Oolong find a sheet of paper on the floor that reads "Ma" (translation is "Magic"). This means that the Demon King Piccolo is free. Kamesennin tells everyone about the story of Piccolo.
Piccolo was freed by Palif. In return Palif wants to rule earth, but Piccolo only lets him rule 1/4 of the earth. Piccolo wants the Dragonballs so that he can get his youth back (which would return him to full strength. Piccolo also wants to kill all of the best fighter in the Tenkaichi Budokai. This would mean that anyone strong enough to use Mafuu-ba would be dead.
Gokuu reaches Tamborine and promises to kill him for killing Kuririn. Tamborine kills Kintoen, and knocks Gokuu into the ground. Tamborine brings back Gokuu's Dragonball to Piccolo. Piccolo then creates another minion by spitting out an egg (that's how they reproduce). He calls the new soldier Cymbol. Kamesennin realizes that the onslaught has started (Piccolo has taken another Dragonball from Namu and has left the message "Ma". Bulma starts making another Dragonball Radar, which will take half a day if she hurries.
Gokuu wakes up and finds himself in a forest. He is hungry, and catches the scent of cooked fish. He runs, and eats it. Felling refreshed, Gokuu calls for Kintoen, who doesn't come (it's been destroyed by Tamborine). So Gokuu is forced to walk on foot and find the #4 Dragonballs using the radar. Suddenly, a monk called Yajirobee attacks Gokuu, accusing him of stealing his lunch (the fish). They fight, and then split apart. Cymbol appears, and threatens to kill Yajirobee for the Dragonball. Yajirobee kills Cymbol, and eats him for lunch. Meanwhile, Piccolo can feel one of his children being killed, and it weakens him. So Piccolo sends his other servant, Tamborine to find out what had happened. Tamborine and Gokuu fight again. Gokuu uses the One Pattern technique to confuse Tamborine. Gokuu then beats Tamborine up, finishing him with a Kamehame-ha. Piccolo also feels Tamborine's death, and gets even angrier.
Tenshinhan has already found four of he Dragonballs. The Dragonballs can only be used for Kuririn's reincarnation, as you can't revive anyone if they're dead for over a year. Tenshinhan wants Kamesennin to teach him Mafuu-ba, but Kamesennin refuses to. Yajirobee eats Tamborine, and wants to know why so many people are trying to attack them. Palif's ship flies overhead, and demands the Dragonball. Yajirobee recognizes the name Piccolo and gets scared. He give Gokuu the #1 Dragonball, and then runs away. Gokuu gets angry at Piccolo for taking his Dragonballs and killing his friends, so Piccolo comes out to take the Dragonball off Gokuu.
They fights, and Gokuu realizes that he's out-matched. Gokuu does a Kamehame-ha, which doesn't effect Piccolo much. So Piccolo finishes Gokuu, takes his ball, and then leaves. Yajirobee wakes Gokuu up, and they leave together to Karin Tower.
Tenshinhan, Chao-zu and Kamesennin have five Dragonballs, and realize that the other two are heading their way (Piccolo is after them). Kamesennin finds a good place to fight, Kamesennin tells Chao-zu to hide, so that he can make the wish first if Piccolo gets the Dragonballs. Tenshinhan is then sprayed with paralysis gas by Kamesennin. Piccolo and Kamesennin then fight. Kamesennin pulls out a jar and announces the attack Mafuu-ba. However, his aim is off, and the attack misses Piccolo. The stress of the attack causes Kamesennin to die. With no-one to stop him, Piccolo takes the Dragonballs and summons Shenlong. Tenshinhan uses ESP to tell Chao-zu that he is paralyzed, and that Chao-zu has to make the wish. Chao-zu is in the middle of making the wish, when Piccolo kills him. Piccolo then wishes to get his youth back, which happens. Piccolo is now back to full power. As Shenlong is about to leave, Piccolo kills him. Without the dragon, the Dragonballs turn to stone, and then fall to the ground. This now means that Piccolo is safe from any surprise attack (most of the best fighters are killed, and the Dragonballs can no longer be used).
Gokuu reaches Karin Tower, and asks for Yajirobee to help him climb it (Gokuu can't use Kintoen this time). Once they get to the top, Gokuu asks Senpyou for help. Senpyou gives him some Senzu seeds. Eating one seed is like eating ten days worth of food. Also, the seeds give full physical healing. Senpyou also gives Gokuu the real Chousin water, which gives the drinker super strength. But after drinking it, the water can be too strong and kill you. Gokuu takes the chance and drinks the water. He survives the ordeal, and six hours later, is given super strength. The power is actually from his heart. Senpyou then summons another Kintoen and gives it to Gokuu. Gokuu then senses Piccolo, and heads towards him on Kintoen.
Tenshinhan and Yamcha decide to attack Piccolo. When they meet, Piccolo spits out another egg and creates Drum. Tenshinhan fight Drum, and is about to get killed. Gokuu appears, and kills Drum. Piccolo and Gokuu then start to fight. They trade blows, and Gokuu wants Piccolo to fight at full strength. Piccolo powers-up, and then knocks Gokuu into the earth. There is a large crater, and Piccolo believes that he has won. However, Gokuu whispers Kamehame, and then jumps in the air yelling ha. Piccolo prepares to avoid the blast, but Gokuu controls the Kamehame-ha to hit Piccolo (Gokuu is the first to learn how to control the Kamehame-ha for non-linear motion. This means that Gokuu can make the blast curve in mid-air at any time). However, the blast wasn't at full power, and Piccolo is able to stand up. Piccolo uses an eye-beam attack on Gokuu's knee, disabling Gokuu. Piccolo is about to hit Gokuu, when he avoids the attack by using his Bo. Piccolo gets angry, and uses his fingerblast to knock the Bo away. Piccolo then blows up the area, along with Gokuu. After the dust settles, Piccolo sees Tenshinhan carrying Gokuu, but Tenshinhan is badly wounded, which means that he can't help Gokuu anymore. Piccolo then shoots another fingerblast at Gokuu. Gokuu is left lying on the ground, half dead. Piccolo crushes Gokuu's left arm, and his other good leg. Piccolo is about to kill Gokuu when Gokuu does a one handed version of Kamehame-ha at Piccolo. The blast was at full power, and mortally wounds Piccolo. Piccolo's last breath is spent on creating another baby soldier. His son is to avenge his death, and kill Gokuu. Baby Piccolo then leaves. Yajirobee arrives, and takes Tenshinhan Kamesennin's house. After, Gokuu and Yajirobee return to Karin Tower, where Gokuu eats a Senzu seed. He is instantly healed, and then tells Senpyou about Piccolo Junior, and the Dragonballs. Senpyou tells Gokuu that the only person who could fix the Dragonballs is Kamisama. To see Kamisama, you must have a pure heart, which means Gokuu must go by himself. Gokuu takes his Bo and head to Kamisama. The Bo extends itself to an enormous length, and then catapults Gokuu to a ladder, which he climbs. Gokuu is met by a black man with a turban. The man introduces himself as Mister Popo, Kamisama's servant. Gokuu's first test is to beat Mister Popo in a fight. Gokuu tries the One Pattern attack, but Mister Popo just punches him out of it. So Gokuu then tries using Chousin power, but misses. Mister Popo is disappointed with Gokuu, and tells him to leave. Gokuu is desperate to see Kamisama, so he starts training with Mister Popo. Kamisama then tells Gokuu that he can meet him. Gokuu is waiting outside of the house, when Piccolo walks out. Gokuu starts attacking, only to be stopped by Mister Popo. Kamisama is actually the good part of Piccolo, while Piccolo is the evil counterpart. Because of the threat of Piccolo, Kamisama agrees to train Gokuu. If Piccolo dies, so does Kamisama, but it is a price Kamisama knows he must pay. Mister Popo resurrects Shenlong, which means that the Dragonballs are brought back to life. However, the one year requirement between wishes doesn't apply as the Dragonballs were turned to stone. All of Gokuu's friends are brought back to life, and are told that Gokuu will be trained by Kamisama for three years in preparation to fight against Piccolo in the Tenkaichi-Budokai.
Three years later, Kuririn, Chao-zu, Tenshinhan and Yamcha meet Gokuu at the Tenkaichi-Budokai. Gokuu fights Chapu-Ou, and wins by knock-out. Tenshinhan, Yamcha and Kuririn all win their matches. However, Chao-zu is knocked unconscious in his fight. Tenshinhan promises to exact revenge, then he realizes that it was TaoPiePie who had beaten up Chao-zu. TaoPiePie is a cyborg now, which means he is a lot more stronger (he was killed by Gokuu).
Everyone wins their match easily. A strange nerd has also made it into the finals. The nerd stumbles over himself, only to recover with a punch to the masked opponent. However, the masked opponent underestimates the nerd, and loses. Yajirobee is the masked opponent.

Gokuu vs. Tokumei Kibou (the mysterious girl)
Ma Junior (Piccolo) vs. Kuririn
Shen (the nerd) vs. Yamcha
Tsurusennin wants TaoPiePie to kill Tenshinhan. TaoPiePie attacks Tenshinhan, only to be punched into the ground. TaoPiePie then shoot a Super Dodon. However, Tenshinhan counters the blast using his Kiai. Tenshinhan knocks TaoPiePie, and tells Tsurusennin to leave him and his friends alone. Tsurusennin leaves with TaoPiePie, promising that he'll get revenge.
Gokuu and Tokumei Kibou talk. She tells Gokuu that he owes him a promise, and Gokuu is confused by this. The fight starts, and Gokuu knocks the girl out of the ring. Since Gokuu won, Tokumei Kibou reveals who she is. She is the Magical Cow King's daughter, Chi Chi. The promise was to get married, and Gokuu agrees to it.
The next fight is between Kuririn and Ma Junior. Kuririn shoots two energy blasts at Piccolo, which he counters with his eyebeam. Piccolo then flies in the air to avoid Kuririn's punches. Kuririn has also learnt how to levitate, and chases after Piccolo, only to be thrown into the ground. In desperation, Kuririn shoots a Kamehame-ha at Piccolo. Piccolo gets hit, and yells out "Zanzou-ken". Reappearing behind Kuririn, Piccolo knocks Kuririn unconscious.
Yamcha and Shen then fight. Yamcha attacks full out, and is unable to touch Shen. Shen gives Yamcha advise, but Yamcha still isn't able to connect a punch. Shen then counters, knocking Yamcha out of the ring. Gokuu then realizes that Shen is Kamisama in disguise.
The semifinals then begin with Gokuu fighting Tenshinhan. Gokuu uses One Pattern and tricks Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan then attacks back, nearly hitting Gokuu out of the ring. Gokuu decides to fight properly, and takes off the extra clothing. The extra clothes that he wore weighed 100kg, which was part of Kamisama's training. Gokuu then proves that he is faster then Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan is then forced to use his new move, the Twelve Eye. Tenshinhan executes the move, and creates three real copies of himself. Gokuu is then forced to fight four Tenshinhans. Gokuu uses Taiyou-ken (the blinding flash Tenshinhan used on him), and knocks all four Tenshinhans out of the ring.
Ma Junior and Shen are then to fight next. They are both evenly matched, but Ma Junior is able to get a few hit in. Shen pulls out a jar and announces Mafuu-ba. However, Ma Junior completes the Mafuu-ba first, causing the jar to capture Kamisama. The body Kamisama was using, Shen, collapses. Ma Junior then eats the jar so that Kamisama can't escape.
The grandfinal is then between Gokuu and Piccolo. Piccolo blasts a fireball at Gokuu, which he avoids. Gokuu then responds with a Chou-Kamehame-ha. Ma Junior gets the full force of the blast, but doesn't even get scratched. Ma then takes off his clothing and grows, making himself look like Piccolo. Gokuu goes to attack, but Piccolo just knocks him into the ground. Piccolo continues growing until he is the size of a mountain. Gokuu jumps into Piccolo's mouth, grabs the jar, and throws it to Tenshinhan. Tenshinhan breaks the seal, letting Kamisama out. Ma Junior is then forced to return to normal size. Ma knocks Gokuu into the sky, but Gokuu uses his feet to shoot a Kamehame-ha to fly. Ma Junior fires of a Kamehame-ha at Gokuu. So Gokuu then runs behind Piccolo. The blast follows Gokuu, and hits Ma Junior, who just rejuvenates the damage. Ma gets angry and attacks Gokuu. Gokuu is knocked into the ground again, creating a crater. Gokuu does a full power Kamehame-ha at Ma Junior. The count gets to nine second, and Gokuu lets his guard down. Piccolo then gets back up, and mouthblasts Gokuu in the chest. The fight continues, and Gokuu gets both legs and his good arm broken. Piccolo charges up a super blast, and fires it off. But Gokuu has learnt Bukuujutsu (the ability to fly) and avoid the blast. Piccolo thinks that Gokuu is dead, when he suddenly sees Gokuu. Gokuu flies into Piccolo, knocking him out of the ring.
Yajirobee feeds Gokuu a Senzu seed. Gokuu is instantly heals, and jump in excitement of winning. Gokuu then gives Piccolo a seed, which gives the demon full strength. Piccolo then leaves, promising to enter the Tenkaichi-Budokai again when he is stronger. Gokuu is looking forward to that moment. Everyone then realizes that Gokuu has grown from a young boy, into a big man. Gokuu then flies off with Chi Chi on Kintoen to get married.
